NETWORK:  Crunchyroll (SONY) 

CAMPAIGN:  Unification

ROLE: Creative Director and Executive Producer

TITLE: Executive Producer

This campaign was designed to announce the two streaming platforms, Crunchyroll and Funimation, merging together and becoming a single company. The two were formal rivals, competing against one another in the anime space.

 

I was responsible for creating the main two announcement trailers featured within this global campaign. This consisted of screening footage, vetting soundtracks, selecting copy, and giving creative direction to the production agency I worked with to cut the trailers. In addition, I also worked in tandem with my Lead Art Director of Motion Graphics and consulted with other teams to create the graphics package used within all static and video assets. All static and video deliverables created for this were localized in 9 different languages, premiering worldwide. 

This was the main promo used for the announcement of the merger between the Crunchyroll and Funimation.  There were :60, :30, and :15 iterations cut as well. This was used on Apple TV, Toonami, On-Air commercials, social platforms, conventions, and PR's press kit. The target audience for this was the general public.

The target audience for this were existing Funimation users (although the two companies were merging, the Funimation name and platform was going to be dissolving).
